Annie Jacobs is a depressed 16 year old, she has a hard life. Her dad, the alpha of the ColdHeart pack, abuses her because her mother died having her. The pack blames her too. She tried to defend herself once when she was 11, and because of it her dad locked her in a house and caught it on fire. She lost one of her lungs to the smoke. She is a werewolf, but her body has still never worked to its full potential because of it. She may not ever shift, and has breathing problems. The pack doctor says she will not live to be any older that 20 at this rate.
Xander Davis is the future alpha of the DarkMoon pack. It is the cruelest, most feared pack in America. All together the pack has killed many people, so they have just as many enemies. He is 21 and has not found his mate yet. During a battle, he finds her in the enemy packs prison. He takes her away without knowing she is dying.
