Sometimes, the Doctor meets someone on his journey that makes him pause. Sometimes, that person becomes someone very important to him. Sometimes, he discovers they always were.

Notes:
This story includes references to and stories of the Doctor's time at the Academy, as well as how things possibly work on Gallifrey and in Time Lord culture -- some are based on research, possibly some bits and pieces I've picked up from other fanfic, and some of my own imagination. All that to say, I'm sure I diverge from canon on more than one occasion, but where possible, I've tried to use canon details from various DW sources.

This story references the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001 and the impact they had on one resident of New York City in particular. I hope to do my best to represent the pain and grief one person might have experienced had they lost loved ones on that day.

I only own the original characters I've inserted in this story, however I don't own the Tenth Doctor or any other BBC Doctor Who characters. Wouldn't that be fun though?

"The girl who waited and the last centurion," I tested their nicknames on my lips, hoping to get a small flicker of happiness, but I was only met by the weight on my heart doubling. A tear slipped down my cheek that soon turned into a waterfall. They're gone. Dead. The Doctor is heartbroken, devastated after the death of Amy and Rory. His heart and mind opens to the screams of humans on Earth. One stands out, a little girl screaming, "PAPA". Then I heard it. A young girl screaming "PAPA!," a piercing scream, "PAPA AHH PAPA", louder than all the other cries of children or anyone in the world echoing in my mind. Heartbreaking. Even more than I could feel with two hearts. After walking for five minutes in the uniform tree line, I saw a tall fence surrounding an ominous brown building which somewhat resembled a prison. There were no windows, only wire mesh lining the entire building and hard concrete pillars in between. Surely the girl I'm looking for couldn't be in here? The Doctor uncovers a girl with a dark secret, will the Doctor save her or will she drag him down with her so they both burn. First they had to find Eleven. Now they have to find Twenty Two. A dilemma or difficult circumstance from which there is no escape because of mutually conflicting or dependent conditions. "a catch-22 situation". The Doctor, in his 10th incarnation, meets another traveller again. He and Kate seem to complete each other perfectly. But he doesn't know how perfectly until he discovers something about her that will change his life forever. I do generally follow the lines of BBC Doctor Who, but might add or change some details. All main characters, except for Kate and characters that are only connected to her, belong to BBC Doctor Who. I regularly updated! I was thinking. There are like nearly none Fanfictions about guys with a male main character and I wanted to change that. In this story, Evan was living a completely normal life. When he was 22, he moved away from a small town in Germany to a big city in a completely different country. His childhood wasn't the best, due to his overprotective, alcoholic dad, who beat Evan even more, after he outet himself as trans. His new neighborhood is quiet and peaceful and there isn't any trouble. The job as a psychiatrist is well paid but sometimes very stressful as well, so he decided to take a break for three whole weeks, beginning on his 25th birthday, to have his best friend Louna of his hometown staying with him for a while. Evan thought he would be relaxing with his books and Lou, but the good old fate thought about something very new and admittedly quite exciting. Even though he couldn't really stand changes in his life, he wasn't able to resist the handsome older man at the library - his favorite place, when he needed space - who changed his entire life and his thoughts about relationships completely. His name was David Tennant, just a normal guy, as it seemed at first. Not saying that David is gay or something!! It's just for this story. Don't like it, don't read it!
