These are the words Inej's father told her so many years ago, and though she is not the same person, she thinks that the words still ring true.
When Rotty's niece and several other Ketterdam children-all girls- go missing, it's almost a no-brainer for him to bring the issue to Kaz's attention. But Kaz's newest spider, Inej, soon becomes too wrapped into the plot for his liking. It's suddenly not so easy to risk his life and the lives of others when there is more at stake than kruge. And when he confronts the man behind the corrupt scheme, he finds someone pulling his strings in much the same way he pulls others. Dirtyhands and his second must race against time and chances to uncover the truth, save the children, and save his....well, save Inej.
