It is July 1986 when five best friends from Bushwick Brooklyn stroll the streets to the Big Apple to get into the hottest nightclub called the Paradise Garage where they include the loud bass-thumping, an innovative residential DJ playing catchy eclectic tunes that sticks into people's heads, and various people burn the dance floor after their local night spot closed its doors permanently.

Valerie Hayes, Gilda Martínez, and Francisca Carvalho have known each other since they learned how to hopscotch in the school-yard and their friendship goes on as they already finished high school when two newcomers; Porscha Asante and Lola Diaz joined the group since they all know each other in the neighborhood. Their girls night out starts off good and bad, yet their night out is a night the ladies won't forget.

Jax's role as the "mutual friend" was to help Estella get the guy. Falling in love with her was never part of the plan. Estella Gillon lives a simple life that consists of band, friends, her father and her never-ending crush on Brice Abrams. Jax Velasco, on the other hand, is a bucket load of angst, trust issues, fear of intimacy and built-up anger. They are an unlikely pair, but somehow, the two find comfort in each other and become fast friends. Jax also happens to be a part of Brice's posse, and he may just be the key to Estella snatching the boy of her dreams. However, through all the run-ins with each other, the long car rides and the one-on-one moments spent together, the line between just friends and more starts to blur. Loyalties are tested, secrets are exposed, personal demons are faced and conflicts arise when the mutual friend transitions from being the wingman to wanting the girl for himself. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- * Copyright © 2016 October Silver. My head was a fuzzy mess. Never again would I mix vodka, gin, and tequila into one shot. And it was all because of one guy. One very stupid guy that I stupidly fell for. Nick Cauldron. 23-year-old, Natalie Atkins has never been in love or in a relationship for that matter. She's spent most of her life in books, reading about them. When she moves out to Los Angeles, she hopes that her luck will change, and she will finally get to live out her fantasy of falling in love. She starts working as a teacher by day and ridesharing at night to make ends meet. Nothing seems to be going as planned as she doesn't get to meet anyone while at school and most of the people she's had as ridesharing customers were either couples, old folks, or college kids drunk off their asses. Then enters Nick, a guy who seems to be a dream come true and who she shares a very great conversation with while ridesharing. He says how he is a musician and how she should come to the Blue Velvet Lounge where his band performs. She goes and finds he is a very talented singer and guitarist. She swoons for him after his performance, and they have drinks afterwards. Just as she thinks he is going to kiss her, he doesn't. Instead, he says she's not his type and would rather just be friends. This stings at first especially as she sees him go after a girl much more alluring than she is. Benji, his bandmate and best friend, tells her it's not worth it, that every girl he gets involved with is only for a hot minute and then he's on to the next one. She asks how she can get him interested in her to which he says to not care about him and move on to the next guy. But she says she's never felt this way about a guy before and Benji says he has an idea. Since Nick is his best friend, he'll turn her into the perfect catch.

9 parts Complete

Seventeen-year-old best friends Brianna Garrett and Dana Tate have spent their St. Francis High years contentedly on the outside, watching their classmates lives go by. But when Brianna confides an unsettling secret to her best friend, her shattered world takes yet another blow. Dana will move away at the end of the summer, leaving Brianna to face her senior year friendless and alone. A last chance to bond with Dana lies in a summer trip with the Spanish Club, the only school organization the girls ever bothered joining. But the promise of a once-unattainable first love, another painful secret, and Mexico—gripped in World Cup fever—threaten to rip the girls apart for good. When her life and Dana’s hang in the balance, Brianna must find the strength and forgiveness to reconcile the friend she once was with the new person she desperately wants to be.
