On the morning of Amber and August's eighteenth birthday, their whole lives are about to change. They have lived their whole lives in preparation for this change, but nothing could have prepared them for what they are going to have to face.
It has been hundreds of years since the Great War, and their city has done everything in it's power to keep itself from violence. But when the twins arrive at the Academy of Fear, they decide things need to change.
This chilling, yet moving, story is told from the perspective of Amber Wolf, as she enters adulthood with her twin brother, August, and face the challenges and changes that come with it.
Boys are the last thing on Amber's mind going into the academy, but when she meets Theodore Woods, everything in her changes. He lights her up, and most importantly, makes her feel safe. Something she hasn't felt since she left home.
When people start mysteriously dying, it is up to Amber and her roommates to figure out what's going on. And most importantly, making sure it doesn't happen to them too.
