Leaving off directly after the events of the first book,
    
    Darla and Bucky have taken a break from fighting other people's battles and have settled into their new civilian lives together in Wakanda. That is until their best friend Steve Rogers shows up at their door asking for their help. Reluctantly Darla and Bucky place their retirement on hold and aid their friends in their fight to save the earth from an otherworldly threat.
    
    Following the loss and tragedy of the war, Darla struggles to pick up the pieces in the aftermath. When all hope of returning the ones she and her friend's love are lost Darla tries anything she can to cope with the loss of the people she's closest to.
    
    Running out of vices, Darla seeks the help of an old friend and the two team up to track down the people who ripped her and Bucky from their own time in the first place so she can get revenge and hopefully help fill the void within her.
