Cody leads the 212th battalion. His days are somehow complicated and simple, that constant litany of hurry up and wait every soldier hates knowing but still, there's a rhythm to it and he's as settled as a person in his place can be. But he has a problem, see, there's a mission coming up. He has to look at the troopers he's known for years, the ones he calls his vode, his siblings, and he has to pick one knowing no matter how good they are, no matter how skilled, this is one mission they won't come back from.

"Can I help you, soldier?" Cody asks the trooper at his door, armour just barely painted yet scuffed enough they can't be a shiny.

"I'm here to volunteer, sir."

This story began as a Captain Rex fan fiction but I have evolved it into something more. Watch as Captain Rex and Jedi padawn Paul Hornen face off against the Empire and First Order, while also meeting legacy characters and protecting those they care about. The year is 5 BBY, roughly the time of the Empire's most powerful years. It will include all movies from Rogue One to The Last Jedi. *But characters like Paul Hornen which are made by me are mine...

Maybe you will find the love that guides you, maybe you won't. Only time and reading will tell. *I don't own anything other than the progression of Y/N in the story and the inclusion of my own made up characters from Vial to any Lycanthrope.* This is going to be a long one guys. Long. Pretty much one chapter part per episode, but because the chapters are relatively short, I think they're fine. Just a bit of a warning, there is language, topics with abuse, suicide, and disturbing elements. Also, someone tell me if this is too long. I can condense the chapters to make it better, and have less chapters. Would everyone be okay with that? It would probably have one to episode for every one or two chapters. About 2500 to 3000 words.
