Tessa Cole is struggling, desperate to stay afloat.
She lives in a hole in the wall apartment where her landlord is constantly putting the rent up. Her mother is long dead, and her father is a deadbeat who terrifies her.
The only thing going in her favour is her job as a detective with the 99, even if they make her uncomfortable sometimes by coddling her too much.
What can she do? She is the youngest.

"But you're scared." He finished, running his fingers down her neck and to her collar bone, following the chain of her necklace, making her shiver, "So responsive." He murmured to himself. "Yes." After weeks of working one gruelling drug case, Jake finally gets a lead that can get him to one of the biggest suppliers in the city. However when the bust goes sideways, Jake ends up disappearing into thin air, his badge and gun discarded on the road and his radio smashed into thousands of pieces. After a year of searching, the nine-nine are still unable to find the missing detective and Amy, as well as the other detectives on that case, start to believe he's dead. By some miracle, however, one year after the detective goes missing, he shows up randomly in the precinct to report a crime. The one problem, he doesn't recognise the building or anyone inside of it. So in the Brooklyn Nine-Nine episode titled "Show Me Going" (5x20), Rosa goes to help other officers take down some shooters in Brooklyn Heights. The episode never shows the situation, only the squad's concern for Rosa back at the precinct. I've always wondered what happened exactly because Rosa avoids talking about it at the end of the episode. So I decided to write it myself! Obviously, the characters do not belong to me.
