Ace Steel is a notorious womanizing rock star who finds himself in hot water just days before he's set to join a celebrity ballroom dancing competition called "Star Strut." A video of him making disparaging comments about black women goes viral, and his PR team scrambles to save his reputation by pairing him with a new dance partner, up-and-coming black singer/actress Aria Jackson. Aria initially doesn't want anything to do with Ace, but Ace's manager offers her a large sum of money to partner with him. As they begin rehearsing and living together in the celebrity house, tensions run high. Ace is determined to prove that he's not the person he was portrayed to be in the video, while Aria struggles with her growing attraction to him despite his past behavior. As they continue to rehearse and compete, Ace and Aria's relationship becomes increasingly complicated. Soon the competition heats up and the media scrutinizes their every move. Ace and Aria must navigate their growing feelings for each other while also trying to win the coveted "Star Strut" trophy. They have to figure out their own personal issues while also dealing with the pressures of being in the public eye. But as they get closer, they realize that there's more to each other than meets the eye and they begin to fall in love.
