Karina Tyrell is a brilliant Medical Doctor/Xenobiologist who was invited to join the Avatar program. Her dream was always to be reunited with her Aunt, The renowned Dr Grace Augustine. She imagined working closely with her would make up for their separated years. It brought her great comfort to be around the last living family member she got while grieving her late boyfriend.

Unfortunately, due to a disastrous circumstance, she and an Ex-Marine named Jake Sully was led into the Blue Flute Clan by Eywa herself. Adapting to change was one thing but having to open up and deal with her repressed emotions was always her greatest weakness.
