He looked at the hourglass necklace in his hands with malice. The very same gifted to him by his wife a day prior to surgery as a symbol of 'good time is around the corner'.

"Time." - he snorted, a bitter smile on his face. Nothing was going to be good now. She was gone and his worst time had started.

Lost in thoughts, he gave the spinning glass a spin, but what he hadn't expected was... a blinding white light to emit from it, slowly engulfing the whole room before finally dying down. Leaving everything in the room intact with the exception of one Abhimanyu Birla.

~

When Abhimanyu didn't find his wife, after surgery, he destroyed his cabin in anger, making a mess. But the thing that remained on his table was a small hourglass necklace, which was a lot more than what met the eye.

Now, finding himself back in time, he is set to put everything to rights for better!

A MAHABHARATA RETELLING ~~~ All the other flowers in the garden were brought up to envy the rose. Maybe shun it even. And admire it, too. Unusual ways. Too-red petals, too-sharp thorns, too-sweet fragrance. If only each flower did not have a mind of its own. If only stories were truly what one hand wrote them to be. If only the blood on every thorn was the fault of the rose and not that of the hunter. ~~~ Her breathing had suddenly halted as her eyes had accidentally landed on a piece of paper carelessly tucked under the lampholder on the bedside table. It looked like the work of a royal servant who had accidentally come across it while cleaning the room and then picked it up and tucked it away. She had carefully sat up and reached for it. The hot metal of the lampholder - like the one she had seen Draupadi seamlessly remove from a counter - had almost seared her palm, as she had hurriedly but carefully pushed it aside and retrieved the folded piece of what seemed like pearlescent paper. Touching it had felt like a grave invasion of privacy, but the curiosity that had suddenly roared and raced within her like a great river breaking free off a cliff. She had hurriedly unfolded the paper and had been greeted by a not-so-perfect handwriting and a volley of letters. It was a letter. A letter that looked like someone had ripped their heart out and presented it to someone on a piece of pearlescent paper. ~~~ WARNINGS: Scenes of intimacy and violence, possible hints of self-harm or similar intentions

Harsha : "Come in." He said, not even bothering to look up from his work. He was wearing a beige linen suit with a crisp white shirt underneath.Okay, not bad," I thought, even though he looked hot. Not that I would ever admit it, of course! Akshu : "Yes, sir, do you need something? You called me in the middle of the celebrations-not that I'm complaining or anything." I clearly stated it sarcastically, showing my displeasure at being called out of all the classroom representatives. He finally looked up and locked his gaze on me, staring without blinking for what felt like minutes. We held each other's eyes, as if time itself had come to a standstill around us. His intense gaze held something I couldn't quite describe, and slowly, he stood up, still saying nothing. The air between us crackled with unspoken tension. He slowly began to take steps toward me-step, step, step... I instinctively started to back away, gulping as he closed the distance between us, striding toward me like I was his prey. He finally reached me, pinning me against the wall, and just as I was about to say something, he leaned in closer......... Harsha : "Shhhhhh." I was scared, my heart racing like a drum. Suddenly, he leaned in closer, his face inches from mine, and... Akshara Goenka is trying her footing in the world after a traumatic marriage. Abhimanyu Birla is living only for his kids after the death of his wife and childhood sweetheart. What happens when circumstances bring them together? Will they be able to let go of their past and be able to make a loving world of their own? ********************************************************************************** This is my first attempt to write in a long story format. I have had this story in mind for a long time. Dont know how it will look and read on paper. Also, I am a huge Abhira fan and hence making this a fanfic. Do read and comment if you like or even if you don't like. Constructive criticism is always welcome.
