Maeve O' Harrow is the only child in her family. She's been kept away in a large house just outside a small Irish village. Her family is secretive, and they spend most of their time away from home. Leaving Maeve alone with her housemaid Meera. 
Maeve is surprised by a strange man and his son showing up at her front door. The man claims he's there by her fathers demand and is staying to help around the house due to her parents long absences. 
His son Finbar is a dark lad, and has many troubles with himself. He finds himself captivated by Maeve, but tries to stay away from her. He believes she is too pure for him, and his harsh father warns him to stay away, but will that be enough to keep him at bay?
