Hartley wasn't heartless.
She'd like to use the word of "uncaring", especially if it didn't benefit her. She was like her father in that way. The man who planned her whole life by the instructions that he supposedly received from the Moon Goddess herself, and tricked all those who came before him who seemed or potentially be a threat.
She studied in Bulgaria for 10 years and now before her 18th birthday she returns from boarding school to her homelands to only find out her mate was the Heir to the Alpha title of her pack.
Allister was strong, smart, and had room for potential to become great in Hartley's words. But he held on to his childhood love and refuses to mate with the girl he barely had any recollection of.
Hartley is determined to get what she wants with or without the full loyalty of her mate. And discover the truth of her mother's death while making sure she becomes the wolf responsible for creating the strongest pack in history.
Even if it means destroying everyone in her path including her puppet of a mate.
(I had published this on my second account but decided to post here. I plan to update slowly unless the story gains traction then I can put more investment on it. I was bored and not sure how this will all go but be patient as there may be errors. I will publish five chapters and decide if I should release the next seven chapters I have already written)

I was getting ready to start my senior year of high school when my dad was offered a promotion in an ally pack. He was our alpha's younger brother. (In other words my uncle is the Alpha.) My dad did accounting and record keeping for our pack as a delta. One of our ally packs contacted him to be a beta in charge of pack records and accounting. His record keeper and his mate were wanting to retire. His mate was an OB/GYN nurse. My mom was the midwife assistant. She could become the pack midwife. This would mean we would have to move. I wasn't sure I really wanted to move. I loved the art program at my school. We get moved and the first day at the new school I meet my mate and he rejects me. He was the warrior beta's son and I was the record's beta daughter, and he rejects me. Ugh then in front of me he claims the alpha's daughter. I was devastated but I refused to show my emotions to him. The next day at I attend school I am claimed by an alpha as my second chance mate.
