It's a new adventure now Danny Barbie and other Popular characters from different cartoons join in on the awesome fun with Mario and his friends in Mario Party nine! They Team together to take back all of the mini stars that were stolen by Bowser in each board that's in story mode Bowser uses two of his own friends that become bosses each time the first time being in the gray fort that's known as the castle and the second time it will be at the Bowser Gate! And the boss will be different that time and not be the Same 
In story mode the cartoon characters play on different boards being levels 
Board 1:Toad Road! 
Boss battle 1 L 
Boss battle 2 Wiggler 

After that board gets done they move on to The Bomb Bomb Factory which is the second board and level in the game with more many fun mini games and there they battle with W and King Bomb bomb 

Board 2:Bomb bomb factory! 
Boss battle 3 W 
Boss battle 4 King Bomb bomb

When they're done with that board they go onto the scary board which is known as Boo's horror castle! This time the rules change for this board the rules for this one are if boo chases you after you move three times you lose your mini stars!

Boss 6 King Boo

After they're done with that board they go onto the next one which is the sandy beach one and deal with two more bosses 

Board 4 Cheep Cheep Beach 
On this board the cartoon characters have to be careful because they will lose their mini stars again and the rules also change here as well this time the rules get switched if the characters move forward five spaces a dolphin will give them five stars if they're near them and if a shark gets closer to them that's when they lose their stars!

Boss 8 Cheep Cheep


Board 5 Magma Mine 

In this board magma rises and if they get caught by it they lose their Stars again! 

This time they battle with Spike and Chain Chomp
