The World Eater

Long ago, in the distant land of Fodlan, mighty dragons inhabited the massive land mass alongside the humans. Their shared co-existence, however, was far from a joyous time period, but rather more comparable to a conqueror exerting their desires over their dominion. Although there were far more humans in comparison, the difference in strength naturally placed the dragons in the role of Ancient Fodlan's rulers; a fact they took great pleasure in reminding the humans by stomping through their farms and soaring through the ethereal blue skies that contrasted starkly with the crimson flames scorching the villages rooted to the earth below them - all for their personal amusement.

As unruly and scattered as they may seem, there exists an everlasting hierarchy amongst the dragons based on their strength and authority in their ranks - a small detail the humans were able to pick upon even when they spoke in their native tongue. That and one word that never failed to unnerve the seemingly all-powerful beasts and would go on to haunt humanity until the end of time...
