Cane is a vampire who has survived until the end of the world. At any moment, the Sun could begin its final, rapid expansion and consume Earth, but according to the Intergalactic Exploratory Commission, there's no way to anticipate the event. Humanity has an escape plan, the Vaderia, a star cruiser ready to flee at a moment's notice. But Vampires have been left off the guest list, and they're not the only ones that are going to be left behind... When Cane is ambushed by a tribe of humans who call themselves the Hive, he must prove the value of his mind over his blood by sharing his knowledge of the Vaderia, the Intergalactic Exploratory Commission and the Bureau of Vampiric Study, to help the Hive gain admission onto the Vaderia in time.
