*MAJOR EDITS/REWRITE IN PROGRESS* Evie has dealt with her fair share of traumatic events, and she just wants to focus on college and her beloved paintbrushes and bass guitar. Harry is just beginning to deal with the most traumatic events of his life: cancer and the American healthcare system, respectively. The two fellow students meet on a bus when Harry notices a stranger following her, and he walks her home to make sure she's safe. Months later, when she learns about his diagnosis, Evie returns the favor in the only way that makes sense: by marrying him. It's meant to be just on paper. She's merely helping him out financially through her mom's health insurance plan. Neither of them expects this simple favor to come with growing worry that turns into a reluctant friendship, which then spirals completely out of control before either can stop it. All she needed to do for the next 3 years was keep her head down and work off her pending college loans. As a three year starter for one of the most prolific college hockey teams in the country he has it all going for him. The looks, the talent, the charm. But when it comes to the classroom he's quite literally failing. With the team nearing playoffs and a sweet chance at the title, Aiden needs to find a way to boost his grades or risk riding the bench. What he wasn't expecting was to be tutored by some chick who could give Einstein a run for his money. She could be a bit shy at times, a bit lost in her thoughts too, but she's exactly what he needs to keep his spot on the team. The two of them strike a deal: she tutors him, he pays her, and that's that. Developing feelings wasn't a part of the deal. But as his feelings fail to dissipate, he begins to realize that maybe winning a championship won't be the sweetest victory after all. Winning the girl is.

Fictional men never lied to her. It's easy to live in fictional world. Real ones lied to her. They always did. Her father, her ex and worst of all her own best friend who knew what her heart yearns for and still plays games with it. So Isabella stayed in a fantasy world finding a way in the hearts of random billionaires in town attempting to create her own happy ending. Nothing ruins a fantasy like real feelings. And nothing tests loyalty like the best friend's hot charming older brother falling for the same woman he once ignored. In a real world where affection feels like a game of manipulation in disguise, Isabella has to think: Is it love or just another lure?
