"As soon as I walk towards my English class a tall, light haired girl with purple and black clothes pushes past me to get to the door. She doesn't even acknowledge me as I scurry in behind her and find a seat in the second row."

It's the first day of the second semester when a new girl walks into Alexandra's English class. At first Al is the only one to notice the other, but then Mel takes interest in the smart girl in the second row too.
They are made to choose partners for a project on any poem they want and when Al is left sitting alone at her desk Melissa decides to be her partner.

"The new girl, Melissa, turns around and looks at me. I think I look a little bit scared."

I could always not show up and make Isabell take my place. I want Isabell happy and if this is the only way to see her happy then so be it. Even if it might break his heart. I nodded. His sports of choice included basketball and soccer, either of which might line him up for a scholarship next year. Ryan had a group of close friends and a lot of adoring acquaintances. It wasn't easy juggling his athletics and keeping the grades up, but he was just that good. The supporting parents didn't hurt either. It might be a cliché romance, but it will be fun to see what the year and beyond holds. ------------------------------------------ This is a story I wrote years ago, or at least partially wrote. As I transcribe it here, I have tried to update it a bit and give the characters/story more depth than what I had when I was younger. Hopefully it all gets pulled together!
