A few months ago, Neil would have given up. If his father had taken everything he cared about from him, he would have gone to his father's study and unlocked that drawer and taken out the gun. But he was taught by John Keating for almost an entire term, and if there's one thing he learned, it's Carpe Diem - seize the day. LIVE the day. As Neil Perry's cousin from France arrives in Essex she would never have thought to ever find love again. After she has been cought with a boy in bed, he has been sent to a military school and she was suspended for six weeks and sent home. Now she's under the strict control of her uncle and aunt, who have taken her in since her parents left her and that don't tolerate this reckless behaviour anymore. But as she can't suppress her true self, she finds a way to sneak out to Welton Academy where she gets introduced to the Dead Poets Society, a group of boys, including her cousin, that want to make more of their lifes than just doctors and attorneys. Especially this one adventurous boy catches her attention and a dangerous romance begins to flourish. As they all try to follow their dreams, they risk not only their place at the school but also the chances of their future and the one of their supportive teacher Mr. Keating.
