Pike and Theo Foster had lived next door to me since as long as I could remember.
I remember the day my mom invited their mother onto the porch to talk about whatever, I remember Pike pushing Theo over in my yard hard enough to make me walk over and yell "leave him alone"
Pike was older (8) and wasn't used to being told off by someone younger(I was 6).
Theo became my best friend in that moment and Pike? Pike was my first crush.
The three of us became inseparable until 8th grade when I overheard something I wasn't supposed to that changed the way I saw Pike Foster forever.
After that I ignored them both and we drifted farther and farther apart.
I was content acting like I never knew them until one night they came through my window and the games began.
