Two sides of the same coin

Asano Haruka, an aspiring Hero Candidate saw her world crumble and shatter in front of her eyes when she was no more than eight years old, her family gone, the home she lived in her entire life now only burning rubble and debris. Breaking the young girl's heart and mind in two as from there on out two hearts were beating in the chest of a single person, a second Haruka, one that was there to care for her, a voice of guidance throughout the dire time that was her life since then, a Haruka that didn't share the dream of being a Hero, one that didn't aspire to save but to kill, a Haruka that was driven by rage and bloodthirst rather than emotion and ideals.

For years she had found comfort in her second self while fighting with it, clinging to ideals of heroism throughout the life she led, be it through the foster families that never wanted to take her for longer than several months, be it the surgeries done on her due to a medical emergency, or be it the times she was ridiculed for her dangerous quirk, bullied for being useless in school, abused by people that enjoyed the suffering of others.

All of it was simply endured, breaking the young Aspiring Hero further down until the day she had hoped for came, the entrance exam at UA, the school where her life would start anew, the school that made her dream possible.
