Pushing off the sink in irritation, I turn to leave but he grabs my bare upper arm. My blood boils in annoyance while my skin tingles with excitement. He perks a brow, obviously sensing it.
"Your aura is in disarray," he states bleakly.
"Yeah, no shit Sherlock." My Earthly phrase earns me a tilt of his head and I scoff. "Where have you been, Beta?"
"On a mission in the Xin Galaxy."
"Okay? Would it not be wise to inform your OA of any missions that require your departure? Let go." I pull against his grip and he reluctantly lets go.
"Yes, however, this mission did not require your presence nor your opinion," he replies candidly.
My eye twitches and wordlessly, I turn away once more but his grip on my arm returns, this time more gentle, as if pleading rather than restraining.
"I only meant that this mission did not require you to accompany me as my OA in pretence. It's safer to stay with your younglings out of sight anytime the role is not needed," his voice softer.
"You disappeared after you..." I pause and shake my head. I feel embarrassed to say it out loud to him. I feel embarrassed at how much it affected me.
"After I kissed you," he finishes for me, the silence following the words adds to the thickness growing in the air.

I round the corner to see a group of freakishly-tall and handsome men. There were three men in the group, one instantly stood out to me even with his back toward me. He had deep black hair and I could tell strong lean muscles were hidden beneath his button-up shirt. I falter in my steps a bit, something in my mind telling me to go another way, to ask someone else for help with directions. But I keep walking closer. Something else within me tells me it will be okay.
As I get closer, the two men who were facing my direction look towards me and I stop, keeping a safe distance. Hopefully they are able to help me, and not turn me away just because I'm a human.
"Hi, um, could you tell me where the front desk is?" The man whose back was facing towards me stiffened. "I think I'm a little..."
The man turned toward me so quickly it made my heartbeat waver. His deep blue eyes pierced into my brown ones and called out to me. His jawline was chiseled to perfection, lips parted slightly in awe. Every feature of his face was meticulously handcrafted by God. I never thought I could find a wolf so elegant. He was...beautiful.
Something in the air shifted. I could feel it in my bones.
"...lost," I finished my sentence after a brief pause.
No one answered me. Did I say something wrong? I look between the three of them and see that the two men behind the man who was staring so intently at me were looking between me and him.
"Mate."
