The Grant family has always lived in the quiet vacation town of Sugar Grove on the coast of South Carolina. Coming and going with tourists. Another family was never expected to move in right across the street. There 7-year-old Mia Grant meets her new best friend, Ethan Parker. As they grow older and closer, she begins to question her feelings for him. They soon get complicated Paige Danvers moves with her elderly neighbor on the first day of Senior year. As Ethan becomes infatuated with popular Lizzie Samuels, Mia finds solace with Paige and starts developing feelings for her and coming out of her shell as Paige drags her along for new adventures.
