When they arrive, they find themselves staying in the attic above Café Leblanc, a coffee and curry house owned and operated by Shojiro Sakura a strict, middle-aged man who won't put up with nonsense. One night, the twins are whisked away in their dreams to a place that exists beyond reality: a prison known as The Velvet Room, overseen by a long-nosed man named Igor and his wardens Caroline and Justine. Together, the three of them explain that the twins both carry a unique form of rebellion within them known simply as a Persona. During the first couple of weeks on probation, the two of them meet a trio of fellow persona users and decide to team up to fight against the corrupted heart of a teacher at their new school. One year after the events of the defeat of Yaldabaoth, the God of Control, Akira Kurusu, now 18 and a former outcast and leader of the Phantom Thieves, has reverted back to being a normal student. He was framed and put under probation by a crooked politician, but Kurusu gained the ability of Persona to change people's hearts and get back at the politician for wrecking his life, with the help of his friends. Living in his hometown with his parents, Kurusu remembers his days with his fellow outcasts, changing herts and building bonds with them. Thankfully, Morgana, a talking cat created by the man of the Velvet Room, Igor, to assist Kurusu is with him as well. While his parents have an okay, yet distant relationship with Kurusu, and the distance between his friends is large, he still manages to keep in touch with the rest of the Phantom Thieves, missing the good old days with them. In another world, an empire filled with corruption is teetering on the brink of ruin, slowly growing even more disgusting with the Prime Minister's selfish actions. A group of Assassins called Night Raid are rebelling against the Empire, hoping to change it for the better. But the corruption is running deeper in most of the empire, forming extreme distortions that Night Raid can't face themselves. It's time for Joker, Leader of the Phantom Thieves, to return with Mona, this time in a whole new world filled to the brim with distortion and rotten hearts to change in the Metaverse. After months of getting to know and love Futaba Sakura, knowing that she is the one he wants to spend the rest of his life with, it's all ripped away by one man. Takuto Maruki has decided that people cannot be allowed to think for themselves, and that they should never have to feel pain, well, unless you interfere with his plan. After being thoroughly trounced by the Phantom Thieves, Maruki makes one last ditch attempt to break the theives, and kills Futaba. In his blind rage, Akira Kurusu, otherwise known as Joker takes matters into his own hands, and stops the mad God in his tracks. Time reverts to its original self, with Akechi dead and gone and Maruki and Futaba alive and well, and Akira in Juvinile Detention. After being freed from prison, he finds out that something went wrong when the timeline was restored. Futaba knows him not as her lover, but merely as his friend. Now Akira must find a way to cope with this new life in Hometown, while trying to juggle the return of the Metaverse, and Futaba tries to find her way through the complex feelings she has for Joker, but can't quite explain, as well as the dreams that almost feel like memories. Will she push through and recover her memories and her love? Or will she and Akira both fade into the Mementos of what they have lost. I took a couple liberties with events and the Timeline, but overall, I stayed fairly close to the original game's story. This is a passion project that sprung to mind while driving, and now I'm hyperfixated... Welp, time to churn out a book. ENJOY READING IT!!
