Summary:
It's a normal day with Quickshadow's family well...not normal at all. It's a mixed family of Irish, British and Caribbean. Quickshadow is married to Blurr and has four kids, Hotshot, Flair, Shadow-Dash, and Flair. Flair is the new member of the family. They meet Hightide, Shadowlight, Quick-Slash, Feugo and Night-Trap. More family members are awaiting them! The kids will soon meet their oldest family member that's on their mother's side. Hotshot has a boyfriend named Wedge, when they first met they had a rough path. Now they seem to get along. What about Salvage? He was mentioned once, is he also married to Blurr and Quickshadow? Is he a friend to them? But the real question is who
is Eclipse? What did he do to QUickshadow for them to break up? Well...we gotta find out soon enough.

Heatwave and Quickshadow are a happily married couple and they live in Fort Worth Texas. Heatwave is a firefighter and Quickshadow is a pediatric oncologist who works at Cook Children's hospital. They are happy with their life and soon they have a son. They name him Hot shot. They love Hot shot very much. Hot shot is growing into a very happy and active child. He loves to run, jump, climb and play. He is now five years old. Hot shot soon begins to feel unwell in May. Hot shot is wondering why he is feeling so bad. He has a headache that won't go away, he is vomiting, he is tired, and he is cranky. He is feeling so bad one night his parents rush him to the ER of Cook Children's hospital. There Hot shot is admitted for being sick and was in a lot of pain. A hospitalist who is caring for Hot shot is worried and decides a scan is needed. The next morning she sends Hot shot to get an MRI. Then Hot shot is discovered to have a brain tumor. The brain tumor gets a biopsy sample. Then Hot shot is diagnosed with Atypical Teratoid Rhabdoid Tumor or ATRT a type of brain cancer. Hot shot is ready to be brave and fight his cancer. He makes friends with seven other kids in the hospital with the same type of cancer. They become the best of friends and decide to fight their cancer together.
