Avery Campbell is a criminal lawyer. She took the case of a woman, Harper Thomas, who was supposedly run over by Avery's ex-boyfriend, Brandon Davis. As a result, she broke up with Brandon because of a conflict of interest. Now thanks to a thanksgiving dinner at her parent's house with her family and estranged older sister, Maya Campbell, she meets Brandon again, who is hell bent on proving himself not guilty and win Avery back at any cost.
