Every seven years, the officials come and take all of the kids between ages 12-18 to a school where they will be taught what the government thinks they need to know. They are put into the classes based on what their name means. The second year they are at the school, the kids are split up and sent to different places, once again, based on their names. If your name means Ruler or Lord, you are sent directly to the Capital to study there. If your name means Worker, you are sent to work in the factories. This is where most end up. However, there is one more place you may be sent. If your name means anything that could make you a rebel, like Defending Man or Impetuous, you are sent to a special facility. Basically, It's a prison for kids. No one has ever heard from or seen any of the kids that have ever been sent there. Some believe that the government takes them there to change their names and send them to different cities. Others believe that the government takes them there to kill them.
Ethan and Sophia Hernaldie are about to find out what their names mean and what kind of life they will have to face because of it.
