Me After You

Failure.

That's what I felt like. These last few months, years even, left me feeling like I couldn't accomplish anything. Like everything I had been working my whole life for was for nothing. I felt like my whole life I was playing catch up with those around me, like I was trying to stay afloat while everyone was swimming laps around me.

My whole life I felt like something was missing. Like I was living for everyone else but not for me. So many things went wrong and I had to start all over again from zero. So why not just really start over from nothing?

New life, new friends, new everything. I could be whoever I wanted to be instead of who people thought I was. I would be free to write my own story instead of following the one those around me were narrating for me.

Zero expectations but all the hope in the world that I could finally be free to be the me I had always wanted to be.

That is, until the man with the beautiful dimpled smile and intense dragon eyes would knock me off my feet in more ways than one.
