The Force can choose anyone. This is well-known among Jedi. Within some species, Force-sensitivity is more common than within others, but there is no sentient species - not even past the furthest reaches of the galaxy - that has never had a single Force-sensitive to some degree.
This, of course, means that every so often a Sithspawn child is born with the Force. They call her Estai and they pass her to the Jedi when she's of age.

Introverts don't make friends. They get adopted by extroverts. With less than a decade to his name and a temper that worries his teachers, Obi-Wan wouldn't exactly call himself an extrovert, but he reacts strongly to basic displays of kindness and Estai is nothing if not kind.

(I don't own anything from the Star Wars universe other than my character or anything extra that I bring into it. All rights go George Lucas) (Book 1) Being Force-sensitive as well as being able to use the Force has been both a blessing and a curse for Alexana. Having been found and tested by the Jedi at a young age, she was told she could not become one of them but was allowed to train alongside the Younglings and Padwans as they trained. Throughout her life, she was kept under a close watch until the Jedi Council found a way to allow her to explore the galaxy and be kept under the Jedi's watchful eye. She was then paired with Jedi Master Qui-Gon Jinn and his Padwan, Obi-Wan Kenobi. Over time, Alexana developed a close relationship with the two Jedi and they both soon became her closets and only friends. Then, when the Supreme Chancellor came to the Council with a request for help from them, they decided to send Qui-Gon, Obi-Wan and Alexana as Ambassadors to sort out the issue that was surrounding the planet of Naboo and involved the Trade Federation.
