Atonement for Assassin Girl

Elizabeth had always been aware that her life would be unique compared to most. She had developed being independent early on due to growing up on the streets of Brooklyn, New York. However, she didn't really see how drastically transformed her life would turn out until she was recruited into the world of organized crime.
Elizabeth was a Mafia assassin for many years. She excelled at what she did and took great joy in it. But a heavy price has to be paid for it.
She had lost her sense of self, her family, and even her friends. She had diminished to a shell of her former self she once was, driven mad by grief and hatred.
However, she later met Barett. She learned from him that there was more to life than crime and violence since he was a kind, compassionate man. She had never known love until he shared it to her.
Elizabeth also considered the idea of living a different life for a while. She might be able to start over with Barett and leave the Mafia behind.
However, betrayal was not well received by the Mafia. And when they learned that Elizabeth had fallen in love with a guy outside of the group, they made sure that he paid the price.
Elizabeth's heart is now completely broken because Barett was dead. It served as a reminder, though. She came to terms with the fact that she couldn't continue leading her previous life.
So, she made a deliberate choice to change her life. Her new life as a baker and artist began after she quit the Mafia. Though challenging, the effort was worthwhile.

Elizabeth understood her journey had been one of redemption as she looked back on her life years later. She had experienced love, lost it, and then discovered a different type of love through her art.
And as she continued creating, she realized that she had finally found a feeling of calm and direction in her life.
