Katie Fisher, mostly know as Kat, had grown up on the south side of Outer Banks. Her days were filled with surfing, fishing, and getting into trouble with her friends. Even though Kat loved her friends dearly there was only one person who had her heart: JJ Maybank. Her best friend since she first moved to the Cut, since the first day she met him with his bright blonde hair, she's loved him.
Thought there many years of friendship, Kat never told JJ how she felt, too afraid of ruining everything between them, but when her friend John B's father goes missing at sea and the group of teens get caught up in a treasure hunt everything changes.
