Butters has, all his life, struggled with his dad's abuse physically and mentally, he also struggles with kids(Eric) making fun and beating him because he more girly. When butters mom died for suicide his dad get much, much worse so his only escape is professor chaos. 

When Kenny and his older brother Kevin Finally saved enough money to get out of the shit hole their parents had created for them growing up, they take Karen and leave, and although they left, Kenny's hero persona, Mysterion is still depended on by the town to protect them from professor chaos and the coons scheme's.
