What would it take for you to forgive the person who signed your death wish?

Years after escaping execution in the Salem Witch Trials, nineteen-year-old Aurora returns to her village with her sights set on revenge. Determined to dismantle the oppressive rule of the Head, she teams up with her childhood friend to round up the remaining witches in hiding. But fate has a wicked twist in store when unbeknownst to Aurora, Salem harbors a dangerous secret- she was the one who turned Aurora in.

As their bond evolves from friends to enemies and maybe even lovers, Salem and Aurora discover the power of found family and true meaning of loyalty in a world gripped by fear and prejudice. Will their love withstand the trials, or will it be consumed by the darkness that surrounds them?

He walks forward, pressing the blade into his throat. His skin is taunt against the serrated edge, and blood beads around it until it drips down his neck in a crimson trail. My eyes widened, wanting it. He is looking at me with those dangerous, glinting green eyes, daring me. "Kill me, then. If you feel nothing, you can kill me. Then you can leave. The choice is up to you. It always has been," He whispers. His words leave me as cold as the blade at his throat. My heart is subjected to this stabbing pain, like I'd turned the knife on myself, and I would rather it be like that. "But if you don't," he whispers," you are mine and all mine. We will rule the dawn of a new age, we will complete our bond, and you will forget about her. Make your choice." I can hear my heart beat in my ears, and I swallow agaisnt the rush. These are my options. Kill him, or agree to be his. I make my own choice. I can not take my freedom away. I can not be the mate he wants, but I can not kill him. With a deep breath, I turn the knife on myself. Aurora, a girl with only one name and abandoned at birth in a war torn land, finds herself lost in a sea of witches, drowning in everything she can never have. Or so she thinks, the night a divine interference rips her from her home leads to a butterfly effect of deadly, chaotic spirals. Something dwells in the unknown shadows of Aurora's soul, something lurking just behind the screen of consciousness, something passed down through the generations as greater beings try to avoid the annihilation of our world. Is she just another part of the fall out, another victim to an unending tragedy between two cosmic beings? There's only one thing that can help her, and it stands before her in the form of a green eyed werewolf mercilessly killing the witches she's grown up loving. She thinks he can protect her, but what will she do when he needs protection...from her? #12 in destruction #11 in strife

"How could you concoct that ludicrous tale in a blink of an eye?" Zane asked, one brow arched in amused disbelief. She huffed. "You should be grateful, I think quickly." "Oh, I am," he murmured. "But perhaps next time, a backstory wherein I retain a modicum of dignity?" Aurora smirked. "And rob myself of the entertainment? Where's the fun in that?" Zane shook his head, but his fingers lingered a fraction longer before he released her hand. "I hadn't realised amusement ranked so highly among your values." She narrowed her eyes. "You are growing rather bold, considering I just saved your life." Zane, entirely undeterred, tilted his head with an infuriating smile. "Ah, but my dearest", he murmured, stepping closer, "perhaps you saved me because you cannot bear to be without me." She responded with all the grace and dignity of a woman at her wit's end-by clamping a hand over his face and shoving him away with such force that he staggered back, laughter spilling from his lips. "Gah! You are intolerable!" Aurora exhaled sharply, straightening her sleeves as though the mere act of touching him had somehow wrinkled them. *************************** Bound by duty. Shackled by honour. Tormented by feeling. Aurora lives a life shaped by steel and sacrifice. As a knight sworn to her realm, she's loyal, lethal, and alone-unshaken in battle, but increasingly undone in his presence. Zane is a problem: disciplined yet reckless, distant yet always too close. He never asks, never reveals-yet somehow sees straight through her. When a mission draws them deep into peril, forced side by side, what once was teasing sharpens into tension. In stolen glances and moonlit silence, desire simmers beneath duty, and silence becomes the loudest agony of all. As truths unravel and enemies close in, the real question isn't whether they can trust each other... It's whether they can afford not to. Written: March 2025- Ongoing
