What would it take for you to forgive the person who signed your death wish?

Years after escaping execution in the Salem Witch Trials, nineteen-year-old Aurora returns to her village with her sights set on revenge. Determined to dismantle the oppressive rule of the Head, she teams up with her childhood friend to round up the remaining witches in hiding. But fate has a wicked twist in store when unbeknownst to Aurora, Salem harbors a dangerous secret- she was the one who turned Aurora in.

As their bond evolves from friends to enemies and maybe even lovers, Salem and Aurora discover the power of found family and true meaning of loyalty in a world gripped by fear and prejudice. Will their love withstand the trials, or will it be consumed by the darkness that surrounds them?

Reader discretion is advised. *****This has been edited from the original story (Previously Auras) ***** Aurora was a normal college student working towards a business degree until she went to a party that changed her life. Everyone she knew and cared about was murdered in a twisted idea of fun, she was the only survivor. Quickly dumped into a world of supernatural Aurora must find her place despite the fact a possessive werewolf seems to want to tell her what to do. Can she adjust or will she crumble under the pressure? Excerpt: The screams and cries for help faded while silent tears continued to stream down her face. Her hands were slapped over her mouth to muffle any noise that escaped her quivering lips. She wasn't sure how long she was in that pantry but couldn't come out until she was beyond certain that they had left. For a moment, she started to have hope that maybe they wouldn't be able to find her, but a voice spoke up, and fear flooded in once again. "You cleared out the upstairs, too, right?" "Yeah." Another voice responded. There was a slight pause, "Hmm. Then where is that heartbeat coming from, I wonder." His voice had a sickening amusement to it, and her heart rate uncontrollably spiked with the adrenaline pumped through her veins. Was he talking about her? The thought that he could hear her heartbeat was crazy. It just wasn't humanly possible. Footsteps grew closer to the kitchen. Somehow, they had found her. She said one last prayer and goodbye to her life as the pantry opened. "Boo." The man yelled, peering in at her. She was frozen. There was nothing more she could do. She was going to die. "Little Birdy," he stretched out his hand, "come out to play."

Aurora opens her eyes only to feel the agonising pain in her body. That is to be expected when there has been an accident. It's excruciatingly painful. Aurora groans in pain and pulls off the blanket, taking in her surroundings. It is more appropriate for a hospital interior design to look to the mediaeval era. Not shabby, but more on the extravagant side. The nurses' attire, on the other hand, appears odd. Someone said out of nowhere, "Her Grace, please wake up! Call the doctor right away!" Aurora approaches the mirror and looks at the woman with deep red eyes in it. The woman had blonde hair that, while a little messy, flowed perfectly over her shoulder. Her fair complexion lends her an ethereal appearance. Not to mention that her outfits make her look like a noblewoman from a historical series. She pinches herself, only to realise that the blonde woman staring at her is herself. A thought struck her mind, as she utters her first statement in this world, "Fuck me". Medea has finished her work, but she is still unsure how to fix all of the messes. She hasn't been herself in a long time, and it's bothering her. The throne seems so far away, and the weight of the burden grows heavier with each passing day. A letter from the Imperial Palace has arrived, instructing the Duchess to look after the House of Smith's Duchess of Light, Natalie Wilson Smith. As an evil scheme was about to unfold, she smiled wickedly. 'This is my new card.' p/s: I can't find the original owner of the photo of the cover, if you know or you are the owner of the cover. A Young Woman: Twenty-two year-old Eva Mallory has never felt truly herself. But that's normal, right? Especially given that her only remaining family member, her grandmother, is gone, and Eva has to navigate post-college life alone. And while most young women have to deal with the struggles of #adulting - roommates, new relationships, and work - they don't also have to deal with an edgy, electric feeling pulsing just beneath their skin. Recently, these strange feelings have gotten stronger. So have Eva's dreams, dreams full of energy, foreboding, and featuring her missing mother. A Secret World: It must be pure bad luck that causes Eva to stumble, one night, into a battle between a demonic madman and a powerful sorcerer. But she soon finds herself thrust into a violent world, at turns familiar and strange. It's a world where loyalty is demanded, alliances are tentative, and power is the ultimate currency. A Latent Power: As Eva finds herself used as a pawn between two cataclysmic forces, she realizes that her bad luck is no coincidence. Eva has no idea who she really is. And to survive, she must find out. But what if who she really is...is a monster?
