WHAT IF YOUR DOPPELGANGER IS OUT TO RUIN YOUR LIFE?

When night falls in Heart City the shadows come alive--literally. They rise from the ground in droves and pluck themselves off the walls--shadows of trees and buildings and broken cars. They roam the streets freely after dark, unstoppable and maleficent. They have only one goal: kill anything that crosses their path.

Haley, Hansel's old classmate committed suicide because of the relentless bullying she had to endure at school and Hansel is primarily at fault. Overcome by his own guilt and too young and cowardly to face the consequences of his actions, Hansel flees to Heart City. He has no friends in this new city and nothing to look forward to. Over the years his sense of worthlessness and self-resentment festers inside him until it drives him to the top of an abandoned high-rise one night, wanting to take his own life.

But before he can jump off, he's stopped by a strange boy who looks exactly like him, down to the last detail. The boy claims to be his shadow and vows to ruin his life. And Hansel has no escape.
