Who are we? They haven't met in person. They live on different sides of the country. He lives in New Jersey. She lives in California. He surprises her with something special. They begin seeing each other. They're both rebellious kids. They just want to live their youth. They go out around the city with their friends. They go to parties stoned and wake up hungover. They sneak out just to get high with friends. They have drugs In their car when the police is around. They're just kids who don't care. But she's hiding something from him and her friends. She hasn't said anything about what she's done. He notices that she wasn't the same as before. He begins to wonder. She acts as if nothing were wrong. She doesn't want to worry him. So she keeps quiet. Dramatic events changed their relationship. They don't know if they'll last? Will they? What will happen to them? Read to find out. (WARNING: smut, drug use in book. Altered
Have you ever met someone who alters the course of your life? For good or for bad, they've come in, given and taken, and then- BOOM! Your life was never the same. There's always a change, an altering of reality. When you meet those people, the reality that you've known your whole life is suddenly gone and a new one has taken its place. When those moments happen, there's no going back. You can try to return to the way things were but nothing, and I mean nothing, can take you back to exactly how it was. That's what happened to us. I think that's why we're still trying so desperately to get back to some sort of normalcy. Four years later and we're still on the ground, crawling, in search of the happiness that was lost that June. Summers will never be the same. Midnight walks through my neighborhood will never be the same. Field parties with bonfires and loud music will never be the same. I still don't know why you left and what lead you to the decision you made. What I do know is that we're here. We're alive and we're pushing forward to the future. A future that you're not a part of. But in some ways, I'm glad you're not a part of it. I just wish it wasn't like this. *** TRIGGER WARNING*** SA, abuse, suicide, substance abuse, and mental illness. This is a complete story that is much like life; fast, full of surprises, and not always how we want it to be. This has been a project of mine for over three years. It was self-published on Amazon, but after some issues in publication, I decided to just upload it on here. I hope you fall in love with these characters like I have. The friends in this story are trying to make names for themselves, figure out who they are, who they can trust, how to love, and how to separate themselves from a restrictive community. Between taking care of his sick grandma, dodging bullets and keeping up with school, life is just something he's pushing through. The only things holding him together? The Best Kept Secret!
They say what's in the past keep it in the past but I wanted to know all about my past. It was things that I didn't know and that I wanted and needed to know! But my life turned upside down when my past is exactly what I should have left alone. Now if you ask me how it all began, I don't exactly remember but I know it started when I moved in with my grandma who I haven't met in all my twenty years of living. I have been in and out of foster homes since I can remember, living with families I knew nothing about. Being the outcast and them constantly asking me what's wrong because I simply did not speak. The only thing that kept me sane was my good grades throughout school. I got the satisfaction of doing the one thing that people kept telling me over and over I couldn't do. I stayed to myself and graduated high school with honors, getting a full-ride scholarship to any college of my choice. Of course, by having this accomplishment, it didn't make it any easier for me between my foster families. To them, I became the girl who was better than them. But I didn't care because when I turned twenty I finally got to start making my own choices. This is where I wonder if the first choice I made was the right one. The first choice I made was to go live off-campus with my grandmother during my first semester in college. I ask myself how could I be so stupid? But you will see just how stupid I was. -Let's get this straight. From a dead end job to a useless crazy ex boyfriend- my happiness is with my best friend yet the fear of our relationship ending completely scares me and id rather fake it and be in fear than find out and never be happy. It sucks, seeing him everyday and knowing what i feel for him and how deep those feelings go is painful...- But when he comes around everything changes for the best and for the worst. As a whole they are deeply loved and equally as hated by others but the love from one another is undeniable, if only she wasnt so selfish with her choices and words- -Lying, cheating, sneaking, crying- many acts and emotions come from within when there's someone you love unaware of that love.. Possibly growing to love someone else right before your eyes..Its gut wrenching, i know because ive fucked up. Its worse when you're aware of the harm you cause yourself and others but dont care how the outcome turns out to be. Why would it matter how it effects you if youre used to pain and people leaving? it wouldnt. lost souls: rain, stars, and iced coffee
Does anyone remember how anything begins? Or how anything ends? For every story, every song, every movie has a beginning to an end and an end to a beginning, but what about the rest? What about prior to the beginning or after the end, and everything in between? No one cares about that, I guess. Everyone just wants to know how what begins and how what ends; the rest is history. The rest is nothing and everything at the same time, because those who want to see, want to feel, breathe in it all--they are the lost souls in the world. They are lost, searching, needing, and craving souls. They are you and they are me. Lost in this world of collateral damage, hoping to be rescued. Searching for what can rescue them, whether that be a person or a drug or a hobby. Needing whatever it is soon because they have drowned and they are six feet under, floating in alcohol and seizing due to heroin and crying because of a him or a her. And craving--craving to die and to live all at once, for they know life is a beautiful disaster and they know about the good and the evil in this world; it has hurt them, numbed them, and misplaced them. But maybe, all they need to do--what every one of us needs to do--is stop whatever it is we're doing. Stop searching. Stop needing. Stop craving. And be. Why do bad things happen to good people? A question that his boy is making himself more then ever this days. From the beginning we see a 17 year old boy, struggling to finish high School, filled up with insecurities, mental health issues, a toxic family home, and impossible standards to live up to. He has learn to not only hate his life, but to want finish it off as fast as possible. Close to finally graduating high school his English teacher, Mr Steve, assigns the class a special progect. "To be able to see life through different eyes, and write about it." For this, Mr Steve gets his class to assist a hospital 3 times a week, and assigns each student, with a patient. This is the moment where this boy meets Royal, a cancer sick 17 year old girl, that has lived in a hospital her hole life, but still finds beauty and meaning in it. Through out the report the boy gets more and more involved in Royal's life, spending unfortunately moments together. But through out the journey he asks himself more and more. "Why do bad things happen to good people?"
