It was a memorable face. She was beautiful. She had long black hair and shining brown eyes. Her hair was worn loose around her shoulders today, and it was something I bet fingers looked good running through. I glanced down at my fingers, with their green polishing cracking and coming apart everywhere. Maybe not my fingers, but someone's fingers. Her skin was clear of the acne mine was plagued with, and her teeth were straight in a way mine had never been, not even with the help of braces. Her face was also barren where mine was splattered with bothersome freckles, and done with an expert makeup brush where mine didn't even pass for amateur. She was wearing a flannel shirt despite the warm weather, and black skinny jeans with a pair of black boots. She was beautiful, and unattainable, yet staring directly at me. So, of course, I glanced away. - or, two girls meet and fall in crushes in high school and fall in love eight years later

Coffee

I watch her when she walks in, orders the same drink - same size - and sits at the exact same table every single day. I don't think she notices me, seeing as how I'm behind the counter and I'm not the one at the register. But on December 19th, she looked up from her laptop and cup, into my eyes, and smiled. Before the start of senior year, Parker Harding was a closeted lesbian. After the homecoming dance, she was out and she was an outcast. She just had three little problems. Finding a girlfriend to get over her ex and keeping her economics grade up were two of them. The third being her crush on a very straight girl at her high school, the same one that sat in the coffee shop every single day. Parker thought Rebecca was everything she wanted, but people aren't always the way they seem.
