The candle is flickering wildly in the corner, dancing to the solemn tune of silence. Shadows teleport and morph around the room, yet somehow, through his tired haze, Strayul can just barely make out the sight of Dorian's nails digging into his arms, forming small moons on his skin. Strayul's breathing stops. His heart stops. Everything stops. The shadows freeze. Dorian freezes. He knows eyes are on him. "Dorian?" He stays silent. He stares at the wall, his eyes wide. His nails are frozen, buried in his skin. "Are you okay, Dorian?" "Yes. Incredibly." "Okay." They were both silent for a long while, aware of each other's thoughts - what are we supposed to say now? Strayul wishes he hadn't said anything. Dorian wishes he hadn't said anything. But the words have already been spoken - Strayul knows something. The lack of information is suffocating for the both of them - how much does Strayul know - what's going on with Dorian? Dorian loosens his grip on himself, but it doesn't matter anymore. Strayul already saw what he saw. At last, Strayul gives up. He lifts his hand, and with a harsh flick, the flame becomes smoke, and the shadows swallow the room much like they swallow Dorian's mind. "Sleep well, Dorian." - - - If you were hoping for a romance, you came to the wrong place. We got angst, we got crime, we got societal issues and corrupt governments, but we do not have (much) romance. Don't let the cover deceive you -- I just thought the red hair was pretty. I'll do my best to update frequently but I got The Sad so we will see how that goes :)

Book #2 in The Fire series SELENE BLAZE "You've got the wrong girl." I say as I continue to take a step backward. He stepped forward not letting me get away. "I know her you've seen her, so you're gonna tell her something for me." Jaxon says taking an extra step forward and I immediately step backward again. I can't let him get close to me. It's been years, but for some reason, he still scared the hell out of me. "What if I say no? What if I don't tell her?" I ask as I let out a shaky breath. "Oh, you're going to tell her." Jaxon says taking another step forward as I take one back, but my back meets a wall. "You tell her, that if I ever see her again, I'll kill her." "What did she ever do to you?" I growl, suddenly thankful for the wig on my head, covering my real hair. "She lived." Jaxon hisses and I knew what he was talking about. He wishes my sister had survived instead of me. Well, he can just join the club, he's not the only one. I swallow as he leans closer. "Do you think she'll understand?" I slowly nod. "She'll understand." I say. "Good." He smiles leaning back. "Also tell her to stay away from the strip. She doesn't deserve to race." "She'll never agree to that." I blurt out. It was the truth, I would never agree to that. "I guess you better find a way to convince her." Jaxon says. "Or your heads on the line." "Is there a problem here?" Wesley asks coming towards us. "No." Jaxon smiles before patting my shoulder roughly. "Besides, I was just leaving." He walks away leaving me alone with Wesley. "Are you okay?" He asks and I look at him. I scoff and walk away. I may be afraid of Jaxon, but Wesley doesn't scare me. And after everything that's happened, I hated Wesley.
