Jesse Andrews is from Nebraska.
The only language he knows is English.
He's never been outside of the US, except for that one time his family went to Montreal.
Despite of all of this, Jesse's mom decides that it's a good idea to send him to Israel for the summer. She wants him to "get in touch" with his heritage. He doesn't really have any other options, so he travels to the controversy capital of the world. There, he stays with the Gezer family and quickly befriends their three teens and twenty-something. Through these Israeli teens, Jesse is exposed to an entirely new culture and language and country. But regardless of the obvious differences, Jesse learns that no matter where you go, teens are teens. They throw parties and they drink and they screw up and they live. The only things separating these two types of teens is an ocean and a language. But when you can swim and speak, is there really that much of a difference?

Lauren Jules, her twin sister Miranda, and their best friend Jake all grew up together in their own little world. Just three kids having the time of their lives. And then came the summer that changed everything. It was the summer Lauren fell in love with her best friend. It was the summer her family broke apart and she grew up. It was the summer Jake left. Now five years later, Jake is moving back and Lauren is determined to keep her guard up against the boy who stole her heart years ago. But Lauren's not the only one with something to hide, Jake seems to be fighting some demons of his own. His past has changed him from the happy-go-lucky kid he was, to a reckless guy with a smirk for a smile. And he's driving Lauren insane. ****** Excerpt from That Summer "Well I'm surprised," he drawled huskily, playing with a strand of my hair. "You acted like a natural last night." Oh. My. God. What did that even mean? He chuckled at my deer-in-headlights expression. There was no way I would not remember losing my virginity to Jake. Hell, I'd memorize every second of it. "What do you mean?" I asked slowly, my stomach doing somersaults. Please tell me I'm jumping to the wrong conclusion. Pretty please. "Well," he started, a gleam in his eyes. "First, you grabbed the blanket and ripped it right off of me." I blinked at him, a horrified expression on my face. I slapped his hand away from my hair and turned around. Yup, there it was. Lying on the floor, along with my dignity. He continued solemnly. "And then, you climbed up on top of me." Could you die from your face overheating? I waited for my embarrassment to be complete as he tapped his chin, thoughtfully. "Yeah, that's about it." That's it? THAT'S IT? So I hadn't completely thrown myself at him. Just a tad. And the prize for the unluckiest luckiest horndog of the year goes to Lauren Can't Keep Her Hands To Herself Jules. I grabbed the pillow and smacked him over the head with it. Hard.

"Go away you stupid asshole!" I said in a firm whisper as I remembered my mum and dad were just in the next room. If they caught me, I was dead. I leant out my window across the high two story gap. Seb smirked cheekily and threw another bit of pencil at me from his window seal. It missed me and fell to the ground. How many did he have? And how can he play football with an aim like that? I was never going to get some sleep at this rate. "You know you can't resist me princess." he winked. Any other girl would melt at his charm. But unfortunately for me, I knew Sebastian too well. I just rolled my eyes and slid my window shut. I walked over to my bed and fell face down with my head in the pillow. Another tap on my window. I groaned and put the pillow over my ears. I lived next to a devil. One that needed to be taught a lesson. //Emily and Sebastian's families live right next door to each other. The mums get along. The dads get along. The little brother and sister get along. So why don't Emily and Sebastian? They have fought with each other their whole life, putting up with it for their families sake. When the two are dragged away with each other's families on a surprise holiday, Emily and Seb have no idea how they are going to survive the four months on a remote island. His hands got caught in my hair as he kissed me harder. Our tongues danced together and he shoved me up against the wall. My fingernails scraped down his bare back and he lifted me up to wrap my legs around his waist. He kissed a trail down to my neck and then froze. “You’ve been smoking.” He said pulling away from me. I sighed as he set me down and took a step away from me. “I smoked once today, ok? It’s not that big of a deal.” “Lissa!” Jace shouted at me. “You promised you’d stop! You said you were done with drugs a long time ago.” “I promised a lot of things that I never did!” I screamed back him. He raked his hands through his hair and started pacing. “Drugs aren’t good for you, Lissa. You need to stop.” “You can’t control my life.” I snapped. “I won’t be with you if you’re too high to remember any of it.” “Then maybe I’ll go back with Trey.” **** Lissa finally decides to go back to her families vacation house for the summer. She’d always been treated as ‘one of the boys’ by the other kids who went to the vacation house. The twins were finally eighteen and had convinced all of the parents to let the teenagers spend time at the house for the summer. Trey and Jace, the good lucking twins, haven’t seen Melissa in two years because she’d been skipping the family vacation even though her own twin Ian had tagged along. They remember her as the slightly chubby, underdeveloped, nerdy girl that they treated like a brother; but boy are they in for a surprise when she walks in the door looking completely different. She also has another secret neither of them knows about, how shocked will they be when they find out? With all of their longtime friends, the beach, the sun, and the freedom they’re sure to get into loads of trouble, and fun. But will romance ruin a friendship? This is the sequel to The Cheerleader and The Bad Boy. Although reading that book is not necessary to read this one.

He looked at me daringly, and then suddenly smashed his lips against mine, he sucked on my bottom lip making me let out another moan, I kissed him back, but then he abruptly broke the kiss too soon, leaving me feeling dizzy. There's another thing, though: he's bisexual and not out to anyone, convinced he never will be. Will he be able to find himself under all the layers of his identity, and more importantly, will he be able to accept who that person is? Annabelle Lindström wants life to chill out a little during her last year of high school. She's convinced she won't like it, but Annabelle starts to love the city, like Jamie, make friends, and even fall for a boy. The End of Summer

45 parts Complete Mature

Summer Jacobs knew full well about her town’s tradition. Every year at the end of the summer, a party would be held on school grounds without the knowledge of the parents or the teachers. It had been happening since before Summer was born and never once was anyone the wiser. This year however, everyone was going to find out. Summer had planned a weekend of alcohol, bad decisions and horrendous photo’s which she would later un-tag herself from on Facebook. A whole weekend with her friends at the biggest party of the year, without any worries or parents telling her what to do. So how she ended up trapped in the school with a deranged psycho killing her classmates off one by one, she will never know. It wouldn’t have been as bad if she was trapped on her own. She would have been happier to face the lunatic solo rather than be trapped with a guy who kept using the life or death situation to make passes at her. His theory was being so close to death should definitely loosen her up, and by ‘loosen up’ he definitely meant ‘get naked.’ Along with his friends who between them had the IQ of a baby tree stump, an outcast who probably still had Spiderman bed sheets and the cheerleaders who were more worried about all the blood staining their new white jeans, they had to somehow make it out of there alive. And to think, Summer’s biggest worry that weekend was waking up with a brutal hangover… ©makeandoffer
