Jesse Andrews is from Nebraska.
The only language he knows is English.
He's never been outside of the US, except for that one time his family went to Montreal.
Despite of all of this, Jesse's mom decides that it's a good idea to send him to Israel for the summer. She wants him to "get in touch" with his heritage. He doesn't really have any other options, so he travels to the controversy capital of the world. There, he stays with the Gezer family and quickly befriends their three teens and twenty-something. Through these Israeli teens, Jesse is exposed to an entirely new culture and language and country. But regardless of the obvious differences, Jesse learns that no matter where you go, teens are teens. They throw parties and they drink and they screw up and they live. The only things separating these two types of teens is an ocean and a language. But when you can swim and speak, is there really that much of a difference?

Lauren Jules, her twin sister Miranda, and their best friend Jake all grew up together in their own little world. Just three kids having the time of their lives. And then came the summer that changed everything. It was the summer Lauren fell in love with her best friend. It was the summer her family broke apart and she grew up. It was the summer Jake left. Now five years later, Jake is moving back and Lauren is determined to keep her guard up against the boy who stole her heart years ago. But Lauren's not the only one with something to hide, Jake seems to be fighting some demons of his own. His past has changed him from the happy-go-lucky kid he was, to a reckless guy with a smirk for a smile. And he's driving Lauren insane. ****** Excerpt from That Summer "Well I'm surprised," he drawled huskily, playing with a strand of my hair. "You acted like a natural last night." Oh. My. God. What did that even mean? He chuckled at my deer-in-headlights expression. There was no way I would not remember losing my virginity to Jake. Hell, I'd memorize every second of it. "What do you mean?" I asked slowly, my stomach doing somersaults. Please tell me I'm jumping to the wrong conclusion. Pretty please. "Well," he started, a gleam in his eyes. "First, you grabbed the blanket and ripped it right off of me." I blinked at him, a horrified expression on my face. I slapped his hand away from my hair and turned around. Yup, there it was. Lying on the floor, along with my dignity. He continued solemnly. "And then, you climbed up on top of me." Could you die from your face overheating? I waited for my embarrassment to be complete as he tapped his chin, thoughtfully. "Yeah, that's about it." That's it? THAT'S IT? So I hadn't completely thrown myself at him. Just a tad. And the prize for the unluckiest luckiest horndog of the year goes to Lauren Can't Keep Her Hands To Herself Jules. I grabbed the pillow and smacked him over the head with it. Hard.

"Go away you stupid asshole!" I said in a firm whisper as I remembered my mum and dad were just in the next room. If they caught me, I was dead. I leant out my window across the high two story gap. Seb smirked cheekily and threw another bit of pencil at me from his window seal. It missed me and fell to the ground. How many did he have? And how can he play football with an aim like that? I was never going to get some sleep at this rate. "You know you can't resist me princess." he winked. Any other girl would melt at his charm. But unfortunately for me, I knew Sebastian too well. I just rolled my eyes and slid my window shut. I walked over to my bed and fell face down with my head in the pillow. Another tap on my window. I groaned and put the pillow over my ears. I lived next to a devil. One that needed to be taught a lesson. //Emily and Sebastian's families live right next door to each other. The mums get along. The dads get along. The little brother and sister get along. So why don't Emily and Sebastian? They have fought with each other their whole life, putting up with it for their families sake. They just can't get away from each other. It can't get any worse for them, right? Wrong. When the two are dragged away with each other's families on a surprise holiday, Emily and Seb have no idea how they are going to survive the four months on a remote island. They thought living next door was bad. Try living together. But will Takana Island change everything? Will the two teens stop arguing and stick together when things get tough? Or will this life long feud continue?

"Bianca what the fuck was that?" David says to me as we walk inside his house. The whole car ride was silent, no one uttered a word and I don't know why. I hate silence. Silence allows the brain to think about a lot of shit over and over. He already had a lot of things replaying in his head. He probably thought about how to reply to my comments. He just had this whole conversation planned out already. "What was what?" I reply sitting down on the couch. I sigh of relief that I finally got a chance to take off my heels. "Y'all got something going on between y'all, don't y'all?" David replies standing up "I don't know what you're talking about" I unzip my jacket sitting it down beside me. I knew my nonchalantness would piss him off. "Bianca stop fucking playing with me" David spat back. He's not the type to raise his voice during an argument. You knew he was mad when he starts cursing at you and says your name all in the same sentence. "I'm not doing anything. I don't know what or who you're talking about David" I take out my phone and start to text Parish telling her how the event went. "You fucking Chris aren't you?" I just looked up at him making a stank face and then back down at my phone. "Hello? I'm talking to you" David stands in front of me. I wasn't in the mood to bicker back and forth with him right now. I could've just told him yes, but he didn't want to know the truth. He smacks my phone out of my hand. I look up at him "Are you fucking him?!" He yells at me and that took me off guard. "No!" I shout back at him. "Are we done yelling?" I ask calmly raising an eyebrow. "You think this shit funny?" He questions "Go home"

Finn Wagner just wants to fly under the radar, graduate high school, and, somehow, get an NHL contract to escape his parent's expectations and his grades. Finn is trying to understand his identity - he's dyslexic, German, French, and American, the youngest of four siblings and easily the least impressive, barely passing his classes. There's another thing, though: he's bisexual and not out to anyone, convinced he never will be. But when an impulsive coming out to his parents ends up with him outed to his entire school, Finn has to face the opinions of not only his parents, but his hockey team, his best friend, and the new girl he's falling for. Will he be able to find himself under all the layers of his identity, and more importantly, will he be able to accept who that person is? Annabelle Lindström wants life to chill out a little during her last year of high school. With no mother and a NHL player for a father, she had a childhood stuffed with trips, press, and hockey - both exhausting and amazing. Now, she's got a summer planned with her best friends before she graduates and majors in journalism, but her dad uproots that and drags her to Duluth, Minnesota to meet his girlfriend. She's convinced she won't like it, but Annabelle starts to love the city, like Jamie, make friends, and even fall for a boy. She tells herself it's temporary, since she'll be headed back to LA by September, but her dad gets his dream post-retirement job in Minnesota and she gets accepted for an exclusive sports journalism internship, so they're staying. Now Annabelle has a chance to make some more connections before she joins the "real world" and even make things happen with the boy she likes, but can she manage it all without getting lost in the adventure?
