25 years after Houston was destroyed in a brutal supervillain attack, Jay Martin is accepted into the Texan Hero Network. Tasked with this sacred duty, he takes on the alter ego of Quickwit and vows to always protect Neo Houston.
Unfortunately, despite achieving this lofty goal, Jay is unsatisfied with his life as a hero. With the power of "common sense" he's not only isolated from the nonsensical world of caped crusaders, he's also categorized as a lame C-class sidekick. Ridicule comes from supers, civilians, and magical talking dogs alike.
Not everyone is so critical, though. Gannet introduces himself to Jay as a devoted yet eccentric fanboy. The truth cannot be hidden by a domino mask, however: Gannet is no ordinary civilian, he's the new villain of Neo Houston, Stygian!
Stuck between a hard place and a scantily-clad villain, Jay takes on the impossible mission of defeating Stygian at his own game. But as Jay learns more about his foe, he begins to wonder about his role as a hero, Gannet's true feelings, and the secrets of the Network.
Can Jay balance it all as he uncovers the truth? Or will he lose his mind in this topsy turvy game of villain versus hero?
(Slow Updates)
(Completed MXM) In a kingdom of wolves, a prince dwells with an unappealing attitude and a way of distancing himself from anything that deals with 'love'. You could say he was Prince Charming's opposite. His only true hatred was a certain beast, a species he wanted to obliterate until extinction: wolves. No one really knew why.
But what happens when the snarky, harsh prince meets his soulmate?
What happens when he learns that his 'destined love' is a werewolf?
(Not as cliche as you think. Or at least I try to make it different.)
