Dazai is in a coma. Chuuya stays day and night in some kind of hope he'll awake. Dazai injured himself pretty badly and there's not much hope he'll make it, but Chuuya is persistent.

There are certain things that a lover can do to drive their partner crazy, to make them feel like they are melting. Dazai constantly makes Chuuya feel like he's melting, from the sex they have, the love they share, to even the saddest moments between them. I'm Your Friend After All
Chuuya is woken up in the middle of the night, with an invitation to witness Dazai's death, by an old friend of Odasaku who thinks Dazai is the reason why Oda died. He also thinks Chuuya is Dazai's best friend who would shed buckets of tears for the rest of eternity, after his death. He couldn't have been more delusional. Eitherway Chuuya goes with an intent of taking a selfie with Dazai's dying form and ends up realizing two things. 1. Dazai was still important to him. 2. He still hated Dazai. Friendship.
