Our Kingdom of Pleasure and Ruin

Asmi has always been taught the usual things that a girl her age learns while living in Elixir Kingdom: sit up straight, always smile, and catch an eligible suitor's eye. After the tragic death of her family and the destruction of her family's cottage, she is forced to move into a family friend's house where all she experiences is neglect and abuse. When her mom's oldest friend drills into Asmi's head "proper" manners, she is prepared to do just that: keep her head down and hide in the corners. She's off to a good start until one night of violence and stormy eyes, she gains the attention of Prince Kenric Haynes of Elixir.

Kenric lives in the dark. As the youngest prince, he doesn't have many royal duties. And he likes it that way. As the kingdom prepares for his eldest brother's coronation and numerous balls and parties begin, Kenric is constantly seeking for the certain moments where he can slip back into the dark, secretly controlling the kingdom's not-so-legal doings and dodging desperate women that are dying to get him into bed. One night, Kenric finally escapes back into the shadows, however, it's not long until his peace and quiet is disrupted by a beautiful girl with long, black hair, hopeful eyes, and a smile and body that could kill. Who is this girl? Kenric doesn't know, but she's caught his attention and he will find her.
