Demon, the only child of his parents, has been jealous ever since his mother became pregnant with a baby brother. When his mother caught him trying to kill the baby, he was hit for the first time, which sprouted even more rage for his baby brother. Shadow was forced to go on the run from his brother when he turned 15 and his parents mysteriously died from a house fire. On his 18th birthday, Shadow meets an angel named Angel who offers him a safe place to stay and they live together for two months, but that didn't last long as he was soon found again, and went one the run once again. After five more months of odd jobs and stealing food in order to survive, Shadow has a dream that Demon has taken Angel and sets off to find Faith for help. He finds her sitting in a park across from the cafe and she agrees to help him. With Faith's help, Shadow hopes he can finally outrun his brother and protect himself and Angel.
