Latina is seventeen and today is the day when she gets to go to the Academy for Heroes. Her plan is to become a Hero even though she's actually a demon. In this world, demons and humans live side by side. The Academy for Heroes is an academy where people from anywhere can become a hero. This year is the first year where the academy is allowing demons to attend and Latina couldn't be more excited.
But when she arrives there, she doesn't exactly get a warm welcome. Lots of people are still distrustful of demons.
Her first day at the academy was simply horrible and she didn't think anything could make it better.
But when she gets a visit from the past, her whole life turns upside down.

A 16-year-old girl named Ashlyn is starting her first day at Hillside Academy and she is really excited. But also really nervous - when she was younger, she was told to keep her ability secret and was called a demon. Her ability is a bit... particular. What exactly is Hillside Academy? You may ask. Well, let's start at the very beginning: In this time on earth, everybody has a special, supernatural ability and they are also put in ranks because of their said abilities. And because many people cannot seem to get control of their ability, there are special schools. Everyone has to visit a magic Academy at least once in their lifetime o else the won't be allowed to use their ability in any way and are given some type of blockage.
