In the story of Across the Vale, the protagonist of the story is a young man known as Zephiel Najjer and the deuteragonist is his twin sister, a young woman known as Zianna Najjer.

In the story of Scalebound, after finding a mysterious temple underneath their home city of Dyna City, Zephiel, his twin sister Zianna and their best friends: D'Angelo and Alexandra are dragged to another dimension by the divine being known simply as the Oracle.

The kids find themselves in a foreign land where everything they know is upside down, after spending a night under this foreign sky, the first thing the siblings see is Dragons, but not just Dragons, the group bare witness to the first Dragon Riders they've ever seen, enter Nokota and Shiro Vanaire, a sibling pair of Dragon Riders that encounter our heroes when they first land on the world of Astrea.

After encountering the siblings, our heroes bear witness to a giant silver fire breathing Dragon flying over head.

After running for as long as they could, the Dragon finds them but doesn't attack then, instead it grabs them and takes them to a great city, one so advanced it appears to be nothing more than a dream,

Once they have landed in the city, a man wearing a red cloak lead them into a temple similar to the one they found, there they would meet the Great Oracle, who would inform them about where they are and why they were brought here.

They were given the titles of "The Hero of Truth (真実の勇者) and the Hero of Ideals (理想の勇者)".
