The Last Days of Kallig

In a last ditch effort to make the most of what Academy life has to offer, two students facing expulsion set off on a joyride to end all joyrides. In a borrowed shuttle, they reach Kallig, a doomed planet in the far reaches of the galaxy, and discover that Kallig's destruction is closer than the Curators had previously thought. In a race to save as many unique inhabitants as they can, the students and their specimens flee the reach of the unstable star before they are engulfed by the supernova that destroys their collected passengers' home planet.
Whilst en route to the holding planet, Errit, for safe deposit of the remaining Kallig, and staying just beyond the grasp of the authorities demanding the return the shuttle, a Mindcast protocol is accidentally initiated on a healthy specimen, a practice deemed illegal by The Academy.
Transmitted in real time, the Mindcast relays the recent thoughts and actions of Lin, a young Kalliga who over the previous days had searched to find how and why her childhood friend had been murdered.
Relayed by a soon-to-be ex-student, this story is written from a prison cell, on a tablet that would be wiser used for drafting a confession. What is ultimately recorded, however, is the history, the culture, the life and the way of the Kallig, a pre-industrial society rich in tradition, compassion, love and revenge.

[Updates on Tuesdays and Fridays] Shyla woke up dreaming of having a daughter who would cause the world to crumble and yet years later was creating a wish list for her baby shower, having married the man of her dreams. She knew the inevitable would happen but what if she found a way to cheat her visions; she would give the baby away, the events wouldn't happen and the world would be safe. Her dreams and visions had already made an exit for all monkeys yet a slight Ray of fear lingered about her. Her parents had gotten all laboratories dealing with cryogenics to be shut down without much Ado. Yet here she was searching for an illegal lab or doctor who would help her with surrogacy. The pregnancy and the surrogacy would have to be in utmost secrecy. Almost everybody knew her, she was famous for having accurately foretelling the falling of a small meteor that would burn a hole through Earth's moon. Only when the actual event occurred did people pay attention to her warnings. But now her predicament was different. She knew what would happen, but she wanted to alter it. She hoped against all odds knowing that it was futile. Seeing was tricky. If you saw something you know it would happen, but then what was the point of seeing if you couldn't do anything about it. So here she was, trying to change the outcome of what she saw. One day she sat down on a swing and rather moodily kept tossing the salted nuts from her bowl to various targets in sight. One such Target was her bookshelf. She had just tossed a nut at a rather large book when she noticed that it held an invitation. She pulled it out and turned out to be her cousin's wedding card. It had been a while since the event and they were still childless. A sudden thought Wave struck her as she pinged her cousin.Complete
The Imposter
Would you doubt your own sanity if you were suddenly blamed for certain events that you had no idea were happening? At first, Dayna thinks everyone is playing a horrible joke on her -- blaming her for doing things she wouldn't normally even think of doing. To add onto that, the new guy at school hates her guts for reasons she doesn't understand. But then, she realizes something just isn't adding up. She's blamed for things she's quite sure she didn't do and between taking detentions, to making out with other girls’ boyfriends and getting arrested, Dayna has had enough. She wants to know who is impersonating her and why. Fed up with the situation, she confides in her robotic scientist parents who shamefully admit that they had created a perfect clone of her…that somehow managed to escape. Amid the huge mess her life has become, she meets Kyle, who is an agent assigned to her to keep her safe from her so-called clone. He is also the new boy at school that has an unadulterated hatred for her. Kyle is more man than boy, who has a cynical outlook at life, and a very black and white way of looking at things. As the school term ends and she graduates, Dayna finds herself having a very interesting summer filled with planning, strategizing, and an unknown attraction towards Kyle. In the end hard decisions will have to be made. But who will win? Dayna or Dayna?Complete

' "What was that sound!!" Mr Katz shouts, then stops dead as he sees the panel of light. "What?" he whispers, then walks towards it and stares at it. "I don't know what happened sir!!" Farren shouts, wiping her tears. "We pulled the levers and the whole room seemed to explode!" "This.. this is amazing!" Mr Katz whispers, walking closer to the light. "Children, you've made a groundbreaking discovery! I can't say for certain what it is, but we need to call someone right away!" He turns around and faces us. "Your going to go down in history kids! I can't believe you actually-" Before he can finish his sentence six thick orange arms reach out of the hole and grab him at a sickening speed. He doesn't even have time to blink before the arms squeeze and his whole body explodes. Guts and blood shower the room and we all scream in horror. We run towards the door but all of a sudden the floor seemingly gives way into a bright blue nothingness and the room shimmers away around us. We fall. When one of those pilots goes on a murderous rampage, it's set to be decommissioned by the Magnus-Barlowe corporation. Unfortunately, this AI is self-aware, and the engineer is an idiot. A scientist staging a prison break steals both a ship and the android to be its pilot, hoping to escape the claws of capitalism. An opportunity to do just that is presented when the mismatched crew is presented with a task: rescue the kidnapped daughter of a black-market salesman and be granted safe passage to a planet without a single MBC colony to bother them. Even though making deals with thieves is generally regarded as a bad idea, there doesn't really seem to be a choice for these wayward souls. Sanctuary. That was what the quarantine dome was supposed to be, a place of refuge from the N-Gel and the deadly Neoplague they unleashed on the world. But we aren't safe here. Senna is uprooted from her rural life in the outer dome when her mother agrees to marry the President of Sanctuary.
