It's nearing closer to the full moon. Remus is irritable, homesick, and in pain. Sirius overhears him crying at night after noticing Remus' scars, assuming that Remus lives like him, he tries to help Remus and has a little chat with him. Remus was not expecting this and is finding the other boy odder by the day.
