❝What are you going to do now?❞ she asked as she surveyed the pained expression contorting his features.

Riley and Luke had been friends since they were snot-nosed brats dorning diapers and pacifiers. Brought together by the friendship of their parents, the two spent almost every day together. The two became inseparable by the age of 10- Wherever Riley was, Luke wasn't close behind. Wherever Luke was, Riley was two steps behind.
However, as the years rolled by, Riley and Luke grew older, found different friends, found different interests, and began to drift apart. They would exchange 'Hello's' at their parent's gatherings, but aside from that, the two didn't interact. Eventually, at the age of 18 Luke and his family moved countries and all contact between the pair ceased.
8 years later Riley would receive an invitation to her childhood friend's wedding- A beachside wedding just like he said he'd hoped for as a child. Reluctant at first, she grew the courage to attend... But little did she know, this journey would be more than just a wedding.
