Malia's parents have been bringing her to Jamaica Beach every summer since she was two. The summer after she graduates high school her parents send her down with her group of friends instead. She expected a fun summer but never expected to meet the boy who would make her question everything, including her parents.
Ford's world came crashing down the summer he turned 16. One night changed his future. Two summers later he continues to watch the world move forward as he feels stuck in the past. Malia walks into his life and breaths life back into him.
For 2 beautiful months Malia and Ford quickly become each others safe place. One visit from Malia's family and everything falls apart.
A sea turtle release brings these two back together 6 years later. Questions and feelings crash together like when waves meet sand.

The Summer of Serendipity
Summers are supposed to be that time of the year that you should look forward to. No school, hours at the beach, late night parties. What's not to love? Three words. My neighbor's grandson.
