"Indie, I'm sorry."

"Don't you dare say your sorry!" She breathed, then continued in a whisper. "It's not your fault."

"Indie... I don't... I..." I had no idea what to say to the girl that never cried, so I said nothing. I wrapped her in a hug.

Can you tell we aren't close? She went rigid and didn't move as soon as I touched her. But, moments later, she sighed and relaxed, the cigarette in her hands coming to her lips, over my shoulder where her head was resting.

Rain landed on my body and her's, and drops made their way down my face and mixed with her tears. The sky grumbled and darkness joined us, where we were standing, in a park: alone- together?

"I'm sorry for your loss," I mumbled, almost sarcastically.

"I told you not to say sorry..." She whispered. "I'm fine, J. You can go. He's now just another guy I've lost and wasn't even with."

I had known I shouldn't ask, or even be wondering, but I couldn't help myself. "Who was the other guy?"

"His name was Tyler."

I guess we have more in common than I thought.
