"Even now, when I'm dead we're worlds apart."

"We always have been worlds apart. I died years before you."

"Wally. You only died 3 months AFTER I did, so why all the attention now? When you used to make fun of me all the time."

"Three months?"

. . .

Wally Clark had died during a homecoming game when he broke his neck. All he remembered was thinking that he wouldn't be able to make it up to Emery. All that time down the drain.

Emery Daniels didn't know what had happened. One minute she was reading and watching the sunset with someone..her friend? Boyfriend? She couldn't remember, but what she did remember is that when Wally Clark was alive they both hated each other. Now she was stuck with the one person she hated for all eternity. Or was it hate? Maybe it was something else?
